BUSINESS PROBLEM:
QAInspect software is the integration point between HP/Mercury Quality Center and the HP Application Security Center web vulnerability scanning engine. As such, it has many prerequisites before installation. The Diagnostic tool is meant to check the desktop environment, repair problems if it can, and alert when it cannot. When it cannot fix a problem, it instructs the user how to resolve manually.
SOLUTION:
Provide a flexible means of determining the readiness of a user desktop environment before installing the QAInspect tool. It repairs problems (like firewall issues) when it detects them. If it cannot repair an issue, it provides clear instructions to the user to fix the problem.
EFFECTIVENESS:
This tool has significantly cut down on QAInspect support calls and if a user does call, can shorten the time the call takes as support personnel instruct the user how to use the tool. Overall, it improves the customer's installation experience.
