BUSINESS PROBLEM:

QAInspect software is the integration point between HP/Mercury Quality Center and the HP Application Security Center web vulnerability scanning engine. When the Quality Center application upgrades, so must existing vulnerabilities (tracked as defects in HP/QC) or neither QAInspect nor HP Mercury Quality Center will work properly.

SOLUTION:

Provide a separate and easily upgradable tool to upgrade the HP Mercury Quality Center database of existing defects so they can be closed (when fixed) by a later version of QAInspect.

EFFECTIVENESS:

This tool was suprisingly easy to write and provided continuity between old and new versions of QAInspect and HP Quality Center. It was an indespensible part of the QAInspect release.
