BUSINESS PROBLEM:

It had been reported that customers were using software inappropriately, possibly illegally. How to detect this and report this activity to stakeholders to investigate further.

SOLUTION:

A report was developed to track several possible methods of inappropriate product use and provide an email report to stakeholders with (stakeholder-determined) weighted rankings of questionable activity. A link to a real-time version of this report is also provided for up-to-the-minute information.

EFFECTIVENESS:

This report helped us to track down and halt inappropriate use of our employment screening product. We suspended accounts of the worst offenders and warned those who may have misunderstood the paramaters under which one is allowed to use the product.

Knowledge is power. Proper safeguarding of information keeps us all safer and less vulnerable to legal action.
